Rewards Policy

Aireville School, Specialist Sports College Rewards Policy supports the success statement – ‘Success for You.’

To raise self-esteem and to encourage a positive work ethic, all students will have their achievements and endeavours recognised.

Verbal praise is extremely important. How we speak to students effects how they perceive themselves.
Rewards

Our system of rewards covers five aspects (R1 to R5) of school life and works in conjunction with the CHOICES SYSTEM

Achievement in lessons

All staff will be issued with ‘Success for You’ cards which will be given to students in lesson. The ‘Award’ cards will be personalised with the faculty name printed on them and space for student name and staff initials to be written. These will be logged on a spreadsheet displayed in form rooms by each forms student leaders.

Each Faculty will have them printed on a unique colour and there will be a selection of 5 different designs to give variety. These are to be issued for good behaviour, effort, contribution to lesson, a pleasing piece of work or excellent oral work. The objective for receiving an ‘Award’ may differ from lesson to lesson but should be clearly stated at the start of the lesson. The aim is to offer varied opportunities so that a wide range of students are able to achieve an ‘Award’. These award cards could be inclusive to Learning Mentors, assertive mentors etc
