OFSTED REPORT

Dear Parents/Carers,

Click on link for a copy of the  OFSTED REPORT

I am pleased to be able to issue the Ofsted report to you following the inspection on 27th and 28th April 2010.  The report also includes a letter to the students at the school from Ms. Jean Kendall, the HMI who led the inspection team.

The inspectors recognized that the school has improved significantly from the last inspection, that it has many areas of good practice and that it also has very firm foundations on which to continue recent improvements rapidly and sustainably.  I believe that the report offers a fair reflection of the school at the present time.  The inspection team commented very positively on the accuracy and quality of our self-evaluation systems and processes.  A clear understanding of our strengths and areas for development is an essential part of continuing our improvement.

I would encourage you to read the report in detail and please feel free to discuss any aspect of it with myself or other members of staff.  Whilst we are pleased that the report recognizes areas of strength, we have already started working on the areas for further improvement.  The school can anticipate another inspection in three years time when we would expect to be recognized as ‘good with outstanding features’ or even ‘outstanding’.  This will require continual improvement over the next few years from a committed staff team at all levels and we will encourage parents to play their part in continuing to support the school by creating stronger links between school and home.

A copy of the report will be available on the school’s website, www.airevilleschool.co.uk, where we will also post our improvement plans and ways that parents can become involved in supporting and guiding the school in the next stages of its development.

 Yours sincerely,

Mark O’Neill
